Homeopathic Action Alliance (HAA) Meeting
The HAA acts as a sounding board for all groups represented at the Homeopathic Action Alliance and provides an opportunity, in an open, relaxed atmosphere, for airing and discussion of differences of opinion regarding use of homeopathy. Action is taken after agreement on an issue. I consider it homeopathy's “golf course” where, in the business world, sticky and possibly confrontational issues are often handled more easily than at formal meetings.
Future Reports from Representatives :
It was agreed that each representative will, preceding the Annual Meeting, email an Annual Report of current action and plans to each HAA representative. Each representative will print one out for use at the meeting or, if they are using their computer, will refer to it rather than use paper. Our attempt at “being green” is to have reports from each representative distributed via email before the meeting.
NATUROPATHS AND HEALTH FREEDOM
Brent Mathieu prepared and distributed extensive background on the issue of what stand naturopaths take on legislation addressing Health Freedom. Topics included licensing, consent agreements, competency. In an effort to let members know exactly their position, he stated that there is no intention of limiting “natural” treatment to licensed naturopaths, which could exclude homeopaths. There was minimal discussion about past efforts in various states and we thank Brent for clarifying this with the homeopathic organizations. If anyone wants further information contact here
FUTURE JOINT HOMEOPATHIC CONFERENCES
NCH Executive Director Sharon Stevenson, President Nancy Gahles, and Conference Committee Representative Amy Lansky came to discuss attendance, locations, membership and interest of all organizations to continue having a joint conference. Topics included cost and location. This year's registration included two meals and all lectures, better space for vendors which allowed all to see homeopathic products, administration of the basic Sat/Sun offering and the arranging for pre and post conference speakers. Plans are to again track attendance by state, organization, interest, lay or professional, schools represented, and other categories.
MAPPING THE VALUES AND BELIEF SYSTEMS OF THE HOMEOPATHIC COMMUNITY IN THE UNITED STATES
Bernardo Merizalde, M.D., asked for distribution of the following survey, which he sees as being valuable in homeopathy. Dr. Merizalde was able to negotiate a participation cost of only $8.00, a significant reduction.
“Dear Colleagues,
I am optimistic that you will find this project worthwhile for your participation. All you need to do is to log onto the website here and get your individualized cultural values/belief systems profile. It will help you know more about yourself and advance your personal growth, for less than the cost of a movie ticket!
Please distribute this to friends, patients, and colleagues involved in homeopathy. The greater the numbers, the more significant will be our results ; our power is in the numbers! For the greater cohesiveness of our community and towards a wider acceptance of homeopathy, thank you for your participation.”
